About The Write Hire

Freelance Writing Services

Kat Jahnigen

Based in Colorado, USA, freelance writer Kat Jahnigen has worked as a writer in Public Relations, Marketing and Communications, freelance journalism and memoir ghostwriter. She’s as open-minded about writing projects as she is about people and has written everything from TV series treatments to technical instructions for software products.

With a B.A. in Creative Writing and a B.S. in Conservation Sciences, Kat has diverse interests and writes about diverse subjects. Though she dives into learning new and unfamiliar things, such as SEO writing, like a 300-pound linebacker, she’s not great at web design. As you’ve probably noticed.

Kat’s approach to writing projects – and to life – is sourced from an attitude of curiosity and empathy. She has lived and traveled all over the world, traveling extensively in Central America until an accident forced her to return home. Surprisingly enough, she now lives a fairly domesticated life in a small mountain town with her husband, two young kids, two dogs and one leg.

Despite the circuitous journey of her life, Kat’s course was set when – as a nine-year-old – she published Kathryn’s Kreative Keepsakes and fell in love with writing. She immediately followed her bestselling debut with two volumes of poetry and has powered her life with writing ever since.

In the face of the Coronavirus pandemic, Kat launched YouthWrite, online creative writing classes for kids and teens, to share her love of writing with others. She hopes to empower the next generation of Kreative writers to find their voices and revel in wordplay.
